Huntington Ave YMCA
The Volunteer will support with swim lesson management and delivery. Responsibilities include teaching swim lessons (beginner, intermediate, advanced; pre-school, youth, adult), and assisting aquatics leadership with on-deck tasks including: communication with swimmers and their grownups, preparing materials for instructors, and other tasks as needed. Ideally, volunteers will have experience in aquatics: swim instruction, lifeguarding, swim team, working with youth, as to be best prepared for the position.

Volunteers assist with our adult ESOL classes by offering language support and helping students build confidence. Must have passion for working with immigrant communities. Speaking a second language is a plus. Classes are: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, Morning 9:30am-12pm Afternoon 1pm-3:30pm Evening 6pm-8:30pm

Sign-up to be a guest speaker and deliver a 25-minute presentation to 7th-12th grade Y Achievers. You can use the additional time for a Q&A with students, or an interactive activity. Our program is held biweekly Saturdays in the morning at Wentworth College campus in Boston. Meeting time is approximately 10am-11am.

As a Sports Coach, you will lead practices and games, develop basic skills, promote teamwork, and create a positive and encouraging environment for our young athletes. Experience in coaching or playing these sports is preferred but not required.
